Under Section 179A of the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, notice is hereby given that Offaly County Council proposes to carry out housing development at Croghan Road, Birr, County Offaly. The development will consist of: The construction of 4 no. Group Housing Units comprising 4 no. 4-bed Bungalows along with associated site development works.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during office hours at the offices of Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, County Offaly, R35 F893 and Birr Municipal District, Birr Civic Offices, Wilmer Road, Birr, Co. Offaly, R42 X271.
The development has been the subject of an Appropriate Assessment screening in accordance with the EU Habitats Directive and the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended. The Appropriate Assessment screening concluded that the proposed development would not be likely to give rise to significant or indeterminate impacts on any European site, therefore it complies with section 179A(1) of the Act.
Offaly County Council has carried out a preliminary examination of the nature, size and location of the proposed development and has determined that the proposed development will not have significant effects on the environment and does not require an Environmental Impact Assessment, therefore it complies with section 179A(1) of the Act.
Within a period of 8 weeks beginning on 27th April 2023 and ending on 22nd June 2023 a person may question the validity of any decision of the planning authority by way of an application for judicial review in accordance with sections 50 & 50A of the act.
