Slieve Bloom Mountain Bike Trail
The Slieve Bloom Mountain Biking Trail is part of the International Mountain Biking Project which was delivered by Offaly and Laois County Councils in partnership with Coillte and Fáilte Ireland.
The trail was officially opened in 2022 and is the most extensive one built to date in Ireland and the UK. It comprises of c.80kms of trail which forms part of Coillte’s National Mountain Bike Trail Centre, bringing significant numbers of both domestic and overseas mountain bikers to the area and positions Ireland as one of the best international destinations for trail riding.
Link from Clara Town to Clara Life Bog Project & Boardwalk
This project, funded under ORIS Measure 2, provides a safe walking and cycling link between the Clara Bog Visitor Centre in Clara Town and the Clara Bog Nature Reserve, one of the best remaining examples of a relatively intact raised bog in Western Europe. It has been said that you can experience ten thousand years of history in the 10km² that accommodate Clara Bog and its surroundings.
