NOTICE OF PROPOSED PART 8 DEVELOPMENT BY LOCAL AUTHORITY. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 (AS AMENDED) PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001, AS AMENDED. (CHURCH STREET, CLARA).

Pursuant to the requirements of Part 8 of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) notice is hereby given that Offaly County Council proposes the fallowing works:

Proposed Re-Furbishment / Upgrade of Existing Bus Stops at Church Street, Clara, County Offaly.

1. Removal of existing footpaths to accommodate new proposed bus pull-in areas.

2. Construction of new footpath areas & kerbing as necessary to facilitate introduction of new bus stops.

3. Modification of existing footpaths to accommodate new bus stop waiting and set-down areas far disabled access.

4. Installation of new Kassal kerbing & pre-cast kerbing.

5. Construction of 2 new bus shelters with public lighting thereto.

6. Installation of New 2 No., Real Time Passenger Information Poles (RTPl’s), logos, & signage.

7. Re-Location/ diversion of existing public services and utilities where necessary.

8. Installation of new ducting ta accommodate new services, where required.

9. Road surfacing works as may be required.

10. Installation of white lines, road markings and road signage.

11. Associated ancillary works.

12. Provision of appropriate landscaping works.

Submissions & Observations:

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available far inspection, or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cast of making a copy, far a period of 4 weeks from l l /07 /2024 to 1 2/08/2024 during office hours at the following locations:

Offaly County Council, Aras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, County Offaly. R35 F893

Monday to Friday 9.30am ta 4.00pm.

Tullamore Municipal District, Town Hall, Cormac Street, Tullamore, County Offaly, R35 WV59- Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 1.00pm & 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the proposed development would be situated may be

made before 4.00pm an Tuesday th, 27 t h of August 2024, addressed to Mr. Tom Shanahan, Director of Services, Roads Department, Offaly County Council, Charleville Road, Tullamore, County Offaly R35F893, and clearly marked “Part 8 Proposed Re-Furbishment / Upgrade of Existing Bus Stops at Church Street, Clara, Co. Offaly”.

Please note that all submissions and observations, including the names of those making such submissions and observations, will farm part of the Chief Executives report to council members in accordance with Section 179(3) of the Planning & Development Act, 2000 asamended and are therefore subject to public viewing.

Environmental Considerations:

Offaly County Council has prepared an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening report in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Development Regulations, 2001 (as amended). On the basis of this screening report, Offaly County Council has determined that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment. Accordingly, it has been determined that EIAis not required in respect of this proposed development.

In accordance with Section 120 of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), any person may within 4 (four) weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Plean6la far a screening determination as to whether this proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.

The development has also been the subject of an Appropriate Assessment screening in accordance with the EU Habitats Directive and the Planning and Development Act 2000 (asamended). The Appropriate Assessment screening concluded thot the proposed development, individually or in combination with other projects, would not be likely to give rise to significant or indeterminate impacts on any European site and therefore that a Stage 2 Appropriate Assessment is not required.
