We invite you to Tullamore Library during the month of August for an exhibition presented by Rachel McKenna, Senior Executive Architect, Offaly County Council.
The forthcoming exhibition is based on McKenna’s book Traditional Architecture in Offaly, History, Materials and Furniture 1800 to Present Day.
Launched 30 November 2022, the book sold out within six months.
Each of the twelve A1 panels are based on a particular section or property highlighted within the book.
From Carrigeen Farmhouse to Belmont, Cloncon, Drinagh or Banagher; they feature dressers, settle beds, kitchen ware, dowry chest, meal bin, God-in-the-Bottle and thatchers.
