Second year students from St. Brendan’s Community School, Birr will showcase their Classroom Based Assessments (CBAs) entitled ‘The Past in my Place’ in Birr Library throughout the month of March.
Students were invited to research their local areas or areas within Ireland, Europe and the wider world where they have a personal connection. They could focus on a person of interest, an event, a building or study their family genealogy. Projects include studies of individual people within families, Birr Workhouse, The Third Earl of Rosse, Clonmacnoise, Gloster House, Coolderry GAA to name a few. Students chose to display their projects in a variety of different ways and they can be viewed in the atrium of Birr Library during March
This is an exciting new initiative by the History Department in St. Brendan’s Community School, Birr.
The official launch will take place on Tuesday 5th March at 10.30am in the atrium of Birr Library.
