This Council gives notice of its decision to close, temporarily, the following road in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 (S.I. 197 of 1993) and the Roads Regulation 1994 – THE R442 FROM CLONBULLOGE TO BRACKNAGH.
Local access for residents & property holders where possible, will be facilitated with access up to the closure location & throughout the closure period. Diversion signs will be in place.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Northbound Diversion Route
Traffic travelling North on the R442 will divert in Bracknagh Village onto the Traffic Management Diversion Route, (Via the R419 & then turning left onto the R401 in Rathangan, to continue North.
Southbound Diversion Route
Traffic travelling South on the R442 will divert in Clonbulloge Village onto the Traffic Management Diversion Route, (Via the R401 & then turning right onto the R419 in Rathangan, to continue South.
All diversion routes will be sign posted.
The road will be closed from 9:00am to 5:00pm each day for a 15 day period only, within the weeks beginning on Monday 20th of November 2023 and week ending on Friday 26th of January 2024. The road closure is necessary to facilitate footpath & traffic signal works at St., Patricks Bridge in ClonbullogUe Village.
** UPDATE** The road will be closed from approximately 8am to 5.30pm from Monday 18th December to Tuesday 19th December inclusive. Temporary traffic lights will be in place outside these hours. Further closures of the R442 may be required in the coming weeks.
