NOTICE OF PROPOSED PART VIII DEVELOPMENT BY LOCAL AUTHORITY. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 (AS AMENDED) PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001, AS AMENDED. (TUBBER BUS STOP).

Pursuant to the requirements of Part 8 of the Local Government (Planning & Development) Regulations 2001(as amended) notice is hereby given that Offaly County Council proposes the following works:

Tubber Bus Stop & Upgrade Pedestrian Crossing

In summary, the development will comprise the following:

  • Removal of paths/Construction of footpaths.
  • Upgrade Pedestrian Crossing on R420. 
  • Installation of two No. Bus Stops including Shelters/Waiting Area.
  • Installation of associated Drainage Works.
  • Installation of associated Road Markings.
  • Including all associated Accommodation Works.

Submission & Observations:

Plans and particulars of the proposed Tubber Bus Stop & Upgrade Pedestrian Crossing Scheme are available for inspection from the 05th of September 2024 or during public opening hours at the offices of Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, County Offaly (R35 F893) and the offices of Tullamore Municipal District, Acres Hall, Cormac Street, Tullamore, County Offaly (R35 WV59), for a period of four weeks ending 03rd of October, 2024.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated may be made in writing or by email as follows:

activetravel@offalycoco.ie on or before 12.00 noon 17th of October, 2024.

Submissions should be headed “Tubber Bus Stop” Please make your submission by one medium only, i.e. in writing or by email.

Environmental Considerations:

Offaly County Council has prepared an EIA Screening Report in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended). On the basis of this Screening Report, Offaly County Council has determined that there is no likelihood of significant effects on the environment. Accordingly, it has been determined that EIA is not required in respect of this proposed development. Any person may within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether this proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.

The proposed development has been the subject of an Appropriate Assessment screening in accordance with the EU Habitats Directive and the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended. The Appropriate Assessment screening concluded that the proposed development would not be likely to give rise to significant or indeterminate impacts on any European site.
