ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE REGULATIONS, 2018 S.I. No. 549/2018, (as amended)
NOTICE OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON DRAFT OFFALY COUNTY COUNCIL NOISE ACTION PLAN 2024-2028
Submissions are invited from the public on the draft Offaly County Council Noise Action Plan 2024-2028, prepared under S.I. No. 549 of 2018 (as amended), to address environmental noise in County Offaly (as defined in the above regulations), prepared by Offaly County Council.
This is a four-year strategic plan with the main purpose to inform and consult the public about the health effects of noise exposure from major roads (as defined in the above regulations) and the measures that may be considered to address this issue in County Offaly. The plan excludes noise from domestic activities, noise created by neighbours, noise at workplaces or noise inside a means of transport or due to military activities in military areas.

The public consultation phase will be open from 9.30 a.m. Friday 24th May and the draft plan available for inspection at the following locations:
· Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore
(Mon-Fri, 9.30a.m.-4.00p.m.).
· Birr Town Council, Civic Offices & Library, Wilmer Road, Birr,
(Mon-Fri, 9.30a.m.-4.00p.m.).
· Edenderry Town Council, Market Square, Edenderry
(Mon-Fri, 9.30a.m.-4.00p.m.).
