Community Arts

Creativity in society is everywhere. From book and film clubs, town and youth bands, to drama and choral groups and dance troops, there is an imperative in society to come together and share and participate in something creative

Community Arts Programmes

Offaly Arts Office supports community based arts projects through funding, support and advice. Community Programmes that we currently support are as follow:-

Arts Act Grants – Grants to community groups offering innovative, quality community based arts projects.

Anam Beo– An artist in health programme which brings quality art experiences to those in Offaly care settings

Festivals – Advice and funding to Festivals to provide quality arts experiences to the community

Drama & Musical Societies & Town Bands -Support of voluntary community performance organisations

Music Generation– An educational music programme.

The Creative Community refers to arts activity which engages communities in a variety of creative and innovative ways and it reflects one of the largest growth areas in this plan. Offaly County Council acknowledges the immense voluntary commitment to developing much of this activity and the importance of encouraging and protecting these endeavours, both for community development and the local economy.
