The Offaly Helpful Reading Scheme is a collection of recommended self-help books for people experiencing difficulties coping with the stresses of daily life. These books can act as a first step in resolving your difficulties or assist you while working with your health care professional. These materials can also be helpful for family and friends.
All of us face challenges at some time in our lives. Offaly County Libraries have a selection of books that can help you cope with everyday stresses and tap into your own skills and develop new ones.
These books are not a substitute for professional help, but can help you as a first step to work through difficulties while you are waiting to see a professional, or alongside the work you are doing with a professional.
If you do feel you need more help it is important to talk to your GP or another Healthcare Professional to access more support.
All of these books are available throughout the 8 libraries in Offaly. Library members can also download eAudiobooks on some of these topics.
