We provide an overview of the infrastructure of the arts in Offaly, our programmes and priorities for arts development, information on funding and support for artists and community arts and news of arts events and activities in Offaly.
Community and Enterprise
This section deals with the County Development Board i.e. the development and implementation of an Economic, Social and Cultural Strategy for the County. It is primarily concerned with the integration of local public services in order to improve the effectiveness of public service delivery, the avoidance of duplication and the identification of service gaps.
The Corporate Services Department is responsible for the provision and management of a wide range of services including duties to Elected Members, The Register of Electors, corporate buildings and lands, the production of the Annual Report/Corporate Plans and Customer Service. In addition the Department looks after Higher Education Grants, the Ethics Register and our Freedom of Information responsibilities.
The objective of the Environment Department is to ensure that the environment in which we live is sustainable and protected, through actions under waste management, water quality and environmental awareness.
The Department deals with the current and long term financing needs of all the Council's operations, both of a Revenue and Capital nature.
Fire & Emergency Services
The aim of our service is to prevent the occurrence of fire, to protect life and property people living throughout the county.We also promote safer communities by preventing accidents and emergencies from happening as well as protecting people and the environment from danger.
The Heritage Section provides information on Offaly's natural, built and cultural heritage.
The Housing Unit seeks to provide appropriate and affordable housing accommodation together with a responsive and supportive housing service for those in need of assistance.

The Library Service provides public access to a comprehensive range of materials for information, study and recreation.We currently hold over 200,000 items including books, computer software, media, images, newspapers, maps, periodicals and archive materials.
Motor Tax & Driving License
Offaly County Council administers the Motor Taxation officein an agency capacity on behalf of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. We are locatedon the ground floor of Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road in Tullamore,to the right through the main entrance.
The main function of the Planning Department is to provide for the proper planning and sustainable development of the county, the management of development, the promotion of industrial development and the protection of the natural and built heritage and amenity of the county.
Welcome to the Roads Section. The County is divided into four operational areas for the purposes of maintaining and improving the Road Network in the County.
Water Services goal is to provide water and wastewater services necessary for social, economic and local development purposes in conformity with quality standards.
